What an end to 2022! And with the end of the year comes the thick of the 22/23 triathlon season. So much as happened this month that we’d like to share with you.
2XU Race 2 @ Brighton
December 11th saw the club represent at the second 2XU race of the season down at Brighton. We saw lots of HTC uniforms running along the foreshore and of note, the first race for our Try-a-Triers! Big efforts were had by all and of note, we congratulate all our members who managed a podium finish. Go HTC! Big thanks to our committee members too, who also go on the BBQ to provide some scrumptious bacon and egg rolls for our hungry members.
If you’re keen to get involved, don’t forget to sign up to Race 3 @ St Kilda on January 15th.
World Sprint Championships, Ironman Busso and NZ
We welcome home Alex, who brought home 10th place from the ITU World Championships in Dubai this month. What a stellar effort!
Darren and Courtney also competed in their first IM events this month. Darren absolutely smoked the bike leg at Busso, and Courtney battled the wind and rain in NZ. Well done team!
Christmas BBQ and the inaugural Beer/Prosecco Mile @ Rocket Park
Last weekend was a fantastic turnout for our annual Christmas BBQ @ Rocket Park, in what turned out to be stunning afternoon of sunshine, socialising and beers. Speaking of which, the afternoon also saw the running of the first Beer/Prosecco mile for the club! A big congrats to Brownie who took out the race, winning himself a trophy for the mantelpiece, and bragging rights for the next 12 months.
A big thank you to the committee for hosting the BBQ, and also to our members who contributing a tonne of food. I think it’s safe to say that no
one went home hungry! Make sure you stay tuned on Facebook to keep in the loop with all our social events.
